Korra looked down onto the arena. A grin stretched across her face as Bolin’s team finally scored a point.
Korra continued to keep her eyes trained on the game, but her mind was elsewhere. Memories of the first time she had met Mako and Bolin began to push themselves to the forefront of her conscious. The moment Korra had broke into the arena, the first time she met Bolin and, later, Mako, and finally how she volunteered herself to play and eventually helped the team win the match.
Korra was torn from her reminiscing when a loud buzzer resounded through the stadium signaling the end of the first match. Korra saw the disappointment written across Bolin and his team’s faces. They had tried their hardest, but Bolin had to work with rookies now. They needed to gain some experience before they could think about grabbing some wins.
"It was a good attempt." Korra turned her head to look at the man beside her. Mako had been completely silent throughout the game.
"Yeah, with a little more practice I can see them being one of the strongest teams this season."
Mako nodded in agreement and Korra laid her head upon his shoulder for a moment before the next match started up.
"Funny, isn’t it? This is where it all began for us."
Mako raised a brow before allowing a gentle smile to tug at his lips. He pressed his lips tenderly to Korra’s forehead.
Korra sat back up and drew her attention back to the announcer who was already introducing the next match.
"I bet that the Golden Gatorbears will win this match. When they do, you have to take me out to dinner, Cool Guy."
